14' Ivory Vinyl Octagon Gazebo – shown with vinyl 4 track windows & composite floor
When Dave and Mary Liddell decided to redo their backyard, they had specific requirements. First, they wanted a gazebo and hot tub setting that would give both their teenage children and themselves space, yet maintain a degree of safety. We recommended a site in the corner of their property – far enough away, yet close enough for keeping tabs. Next, they wanted the gazebo to also serve as a changing room for the hot tub. We recommended vinyl 4 track windows with privacy film. Seeing out is easier than seeing in, much like being in a limo with tinted windows. And finally, the Liddells wanted a classic look with low maintenance and easy clean-up. So, they selected the low-maintenance ivory vinyl, 14' Pagoda model: The roof shingles resemble cedar shakes, but they are rubber, so they resist the sun's UV rays. The upper and lower railing spindles created the classic look and the spacious design permitted Mary to decorate the interior like any other room in her home. She positioned a cast aluminum sofa and chair opposite an armoire with a TV, and then added an array of pillows for extra comfort. She used an abundance of candles to accent the rope lit cedar tongue and groove ceiling above. We recommended a fan with wicker blades to spin away hot summer air – placed just below the raised and screened roof opening.
What do Dave and Mary have to say? "The space was perfect! "The whole family uses the gazebo; it's created many fond memories already," says Mary. "The low-maintenance vinyl gazebo is easy to clean, too," says Dave, who especially likes the fact that he doesn't need to stain the gazebo.

Have fun in the pool. Then walk a few steps to this 14' cedar gazebo where you and your guests can dry off and relax.
A ceiling fan sends summer air out the pagoda roof vents and circulates the air inside for pure comfort. A full screen package including floor screen keeps bugs and mosquitoes away, too. Ideal lazy summer living and low maintenance
as well. A clear preservative seals the gazebo's natural golden cedar in shades that match the tones of the deck railing alongside. And a periodic re-finishing keeps it new looking for decades.

12' Pine Double Roof Gazebo – Shown with screens, flat balusters & cedar tone stain
One of the major design pluses of a gazebo is how it blends into surrounding landscapes. The 12' Pine Octagonal Double Roof Gazebo is a prime example. The contemporary rail construction with flat balusters ties in with the existing deck railing. So does the Pine skirting installed around the base. What's more the pine stains beautifully to match the cedar tone of the deck. And the stain serves as a protective coat against damaging UV rays, as well. For protection against bugs and mosquitoes, a full screen kit including floor screen is installed under the gazebo's pine decking. So entertaining is bug free as well as rainproof. And positioning the gazebo near the kitchen makes it easy and convenient, too.

So they chose a 12' vinyl gazebo with rubber slate roof, composite floor and special headers – and a complementary deck. "It went together easily – a heck of a lot easier than digging the holes!" Al reported after finishing the gazebo kit's assembly.

14' Cedar Gazebo with Double Roof – Shown with screens and clear seal/preservative
Tom and Michelle Snyder, Hawthorn Woods, Illinois wanted a gazebo that matched their lifestyle. They chose the Cedar Gazebo that complemented their back yard. Not certain about keeping the existing railing or going with a traditional turned spindle, they asked our advise. We recommended the turned spindles to accent the classic look of the double roof. It's the most popular octagon gazebo combination we create, and it fits practically everywhere. Michelle loved it and to catch the sounds of gentle breezes, she added wind chimes. According to Michelle, "It's the most calming sound I've ever heard."

14' Octagon Gazebo with Double Roof – Shown with 4 track windows/door, cedar rubber roof shingles & composite floor
Maintenance? Minimal. New age materials make the difference in this classical gazebo design. The Pagoda roof design may be classical form but it functions with a look to the future: rubber shingles resist the suns U.V. rays to keep those good looks. Ditto for the vinyl railing sections and post sleeves: soap and water cleans them easily. And the composite decking will wear and wear, year after year, and still look good. Set atop a composite deck and you have a worry-free environment for the whole family.

Customize colors. Mix or match the colors of your deck or your furniture! This pagoda gazebo was built in premium pine then painted to match the deck railing and house siding. The color was custom color matched to come out just right. Even the flooring was customized. Rather than having a typical wood floor, the owners ordered the same Trex decking used on the deck surface. And when it came to the baluster, they opted not to match the deck. Looks beautiful doesn't it? So, create a design that is uniquely your own and one-of-a-kind.

14' Pine Double Roof Gazebo – Shown with straight fascia, screens and ivory paint
If you want a consistent design look, remember: Gazebos can be customized to meet your needs. This 14' double roof gazebo was altered slightly from the typical configuration. The owners didn't want a scalloped fascia. They wanted square 2 x 2's to match the deck railing. The straight fascia matches the lines of the house achieving the consistent look Jim and Nancy Holloway wanted. And for minimal maintenance, Trex decking was used in the Gazebo, exactly like the deck. "The screens were a blessing because of all the bugs we get in the spring. Now we can actually eat outdoors," Nancy informed us.

"Our contractor referred us", the Applegates said when they placed their order for this large oval gazebo. According to Sam and Cary Applegate, Jim said it wasn't possible to build the same quality that you get when you order a kit from countrysidegazebos.com. He's right. The material we use is unlike what they sell at local lumberyards. countrysidegazebos.com uses kiln-died pine that has only very tight small knots – it's as if every piece of wood were individually selected. Nestled in the tree, overlooking a pond, this Oval gazebo was reconfigured, allowing the entry to be positioned on the end of the gazebo rather than in the center. It made more sense to move the door and work with the natural setting rather than to angle the gazebo differently. With the entry relocated, even the furniture arrangement became more flexible according to the Paulsons, the new owners of this screened in gazebo. Changing a layout by repositioning a door can be accomplished with any oval gazebo or gazebo kit. Just be sure to indicate the way you'd like the door to open: to the right or to the left.

When Jim and Sally Merkle bought their new home, they decided to create a new backyard. The first step was to replace the decking on the deck – the previous owner's lack of maintenance allowed the decking to deteriorate. We suggested a great looking lo-maintenance material. Next, Sally, who always wanted a screen room, agreed to the oval gazebo we recommended. The Gazebo's size and shape lent itself to a unique positioning angle, taking full advantage of the views and the landscaping. According to Sally, the result was better than what could be achieved with a screened porch attached to the house. And the 50% savings over a screened porch was a major bonus as well.

Once the floor is in place, the gazebo kit is a snap to assemble with the proper tools. Wall and roof sections are all numbered for easy identification. After the lower sections are fastened, you'll be able to lift the upper roof into place. Next, the cupola is positioned and you're ready to install the window or screen kit... For grade installations, like the one pictured above, the only requirement for approval from most municipal building department inspectors, is a set of piers that are configured to meet the posts that support the roof. The gazebo is secured to the piers with metal brackets. This particular gazebo was pre-assembled and delivered to the site. To install it, three men used rollers to position the gazebo, and then marked the ground around it with spray paint. Once the gazebo is rolled away, the pier locations can be marked within the perimeter. After the pier holes are dug below the frost line, some local building departments may require an inspector to check and approve the depth. Next, the concrete is poured and leveled and the gazebo is ready to roll back into place and fastened. That's all there is to it.

Depending on what part of the country you live, building departments may have more stringent requirements for gazebo installation. This gazebo has a slightly taller roof line than normal because of a continuous header that the village required be installed in the gazebo. The nicest thing about 4 track windows on any gazebo is that they create privacy when you want it. The film for the windows is available in 3 tints; charcoal as pictured, and blue or clear. If the gazebo is adjacent your neighbor's driveway and you don't want to see the kids play basketball all summer, perhaps the smoke colored film would be appropriate. Or, select the clear film if your gazebo is planned for a private setting or positioned to look over a pond or golf course. Remember, vinyl windows are very durable and will not fade or streak and they are convenient, too. The sections stow behind one another and allow for 75% ventilation when opened completely.

Gazebos installed over sloping grades usually are set atop a row of level beams so they sit on a solid mounting surface. Here's how the gazebo pictured above is shipped. The heavy composite floor is sent in 3 sections, for manageability and easy assembly. Every wall section is sent as a separate complete panel. "Loose" rail sections are included to connect and join all the completed panels. Each of the ceiling panels come with shingles installed, so connecting the roof sections is a snap. Window frames can match the gazebo's support posts, like those pictured above. In the closed position the windows adjust in seconds, opening a full 75% of the window's area. The panels are lighter than glass so they glide easily up and down the track. Cleaning is a snap as well. Simply retract the two top springs and lift the section out and use any household dishwashing detergent. In addition to keeping out the snow and rain the UV light stays out as well. And when the windows are in the open position, the screen keeps out tiny insects and blowing debris. The vinyl glazing film is tough, poke your finger into the film and it stretches rather than tearing. After just a few seconds, the vinyl regains its original shape – perfect for when little children or pets are around. And, all vinyl window packages come with a lifetime limited warranty.

That means, you can dine inside your gazebo without pesky flies buzzing around, and definitely without mosquitoes dining on you. Screen packages can be added at any time to a Countryside Gazebo, Just remember that our screens mount on the inside of the gazebo's wall sections.
